Fort lee NJ, a tragic accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Bergen County claimed the life of a Nutley man and injured a toddler on Sunday night, according to state police reports.
The crash occurred around 9:08 p.m. in the northbound express lanes near milepost 121.4 in Fort Lee. Authorities stated that a Toyota Camry, driven by 34-year-old Justin Veras of Nutley, collided with the rear of a disabled Kenworth tractor-trailer parked in the right lane.
Veras tragically sustained fatal injuries from the impact. A 20-month-old child, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also injured. Fortunately, the child was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation by NJ State Police. At this time, no further details have been released.
