Ridgewood NJ, The highly anticipated Ridgewood Senior Parking Permit program is off to an incredible start! Since launching yesterday morning, local seniors have been rushing to secure theirs, with 50 permits already purchased by eligible Ridgewood residents in less than 24 hours.

Among the very first to secure their passes were Carol Maloney, Vice President of Programs for the H.I.L.T. Senior Group, and Ridgewood Deputy Mayor Pamela Perron, highlighting the community-wide excitement for this new parking solution.

If you are a Ridgewood resident aged 65 or older, here is everything you need to know about locking in your flat-rate parking for the Central Business District (CBD).

What is the Ridgewood Senior Parking Permit?

The Senior Parking Permit is a dedicated program designed to give eligible Ridgewood residents age 65 and older convenient, affordable access to the downtown area.

With this permit, seniors can bypass standard parking rates in the Central Business District for a simple, flat fee.

How Much Does the Permit Cost?

  • Annual Fee: $75 per year.

  • Prorated 2026 Rate: If you are purchasing your permit for the remainder of 2026, a prorated option is available right now for just $37.50.

Where and How to Buy Your Permit

Permits officially went on sale Wednesday, July 1. You can purchase yours in person at Village Hall.

  • Location: Reception desk in the lobby of Village Hall (131 N Maple Ave, Ridgewood, NJ 07450).

  • What to Bring:

    • Your valid driver’s license (proving age 65+ and Ridgewood residency).

    • Your current vehicle registration.

    • Payment: Exact change, a check, or a credit card.

Important Parking Rules & Restrictions

While the permit offers incredible access to downtown Ridgewood, there are a few places where the Senior Parking Permit is not valid:

  • 🚫 15-minute designated parking spaces

  • 🚫 Commuter parking lots

  • 🚫 The 4th floor of the Hudson Street Parking Garage

  1. The town has to pull every $ out of our seniors. It sb free.

  2. Cheaper to park in other towns. The village idiots are driving away the commerce of seniors. How many seniors are visible downtown on any given day? They tax them to death and cant even provide them with free parking, even for the disabled.
