Governor Murphy Declares State of Emergency Due to Flash Flooding

TRENTON NJ – Governor Phil Murphy today declared that New Jersey will enter a State of Emergency effective at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, due to flash flooding, severe thunderstorms, intense rainfall, and damaging wind gusts. Executive Order No. 392 declares a State of Emergency across all 21 counties in New Jersey.

Chain Reaction Crash on Broadway in Fair Lawn Injures Teen, Shuts Down Lanes

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A chain reaction crash on Monday afternoon, July 14, in the 1500 block of westbound Broadway caused significant traffic delays, damaged two vehicles, and left a 16-year-old male with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Fair Lawn Police Department.

Garfield NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 60-year-old TROY R. TAYLOR of Hackensack, NJ on charges of aggravated arson, arson, failure to control or report a fire, theft of a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Garfield Police Department, under the direction of Chief Joseph Delaney.
