New Jersey Ranks 8th in the Nation for Average Teacher Salary in 2023-24, Says NEA Report

Trenton NJ, a recent report from the National Education Association (NEA) has ranked New Jersey eighth in the nation for average teacher salary during the 2023-24 school year. According to the NEA’s Rankings and Estimates Report, the average salary for teachers in New Jersey was $82,877, a 2.2% increase from the previous year’s $81,102 and over $10,000 higher than the national average of $72,030.

Public Education: New Jersey Ranks 4th Nationally in Per-Student Public School Spending, Census Report Finds

Trenton NJ, a newly released report from the U.S. Census Bureau ranks New Jersey fourth in the nation for public school per-student spending, with an average of $26,280 per student in fiscal year 2023 — nearly $10,000 above the national average of $16,014.

UPDATE FOUND : Wallington Police Department is Seeking the Public’s Assistance in Locating a Missing Juvenile

A missing 13-year-old girl was found safe, Wallington police said Friday.

Makayla, 13, whose last name has not been released, was last spotted around 5:45 p.m. April 30, according to the Wallington Police Department. Wallington PD reported around 1 a.m. she had been found safe.

“We extend our sincere thanks to the Little Ferry Police Department and all assisting agencies for their swift and effective response,” Wallington police stated on social media. “We are also grateful to the community for spreading the word and aiding in the search.”
