Paramus NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of WINSTON SANTOS (DOB: 10/25/1982; married; truck mechanic) of Paramus, NJ, on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.
On Friday, February 28, 2020, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit to report concerns that WINSTON SANTOS was engaged in a sexual relationship with a child under the age of sixteen in Paramus, NJ. An investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Paramus Police Department.
As a result of the investigation, on Monday, March 2, 2020, WINSTON SANTOS was arrested and charged with four counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)c, all 1st degree crimes; one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a, a 3rd degree crime. SANTOS was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Paramus Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
