Ridgewood NJ, a late Monday afternoon, 06/27, dispute on a Greyhound bus heading southbound on Route 17 in Ridgewood, during which an adult male passenger allegedly threatened another man with a handgun, resulted in the arrest of an individual who was reportedly wanted in New York State for failure to pay child support. Several Ridgewood Police Patrol Officers and a pair of New Jersey State Police Troopers responded to the incident. Although a thorough body search of the person taken into custody by State Troopers, and a search of the bus, failed to produce a weapon, it is not known whether the detainee’s seized luggage was also searched at the scene, or whether such a search required a warrant. No injuries were reported in connection with the dispute.

Family Court chaos.
Any given married man with young children, and who happens to own a firearm, is one phone call to a slimy Divorce Lawyer away from eventually being summarily deprived of his weapon and alienated from his children based on one or more carefully scripted “allegations” made by his better half.
At this point in NY/NJ, the documented fact of legal gun ownership by a man is probably enough (when combined with the ordinary raft of lies and innuendo) to torpedo his reputation in Family Court.
Local police know this, and a whole lot more, but can always be counted upon to behave as if nothing corrupt is going on.
