East Rutherford NJ, early on Sunday, a tragic incident occurred as a 26-year-old man from Summit lost his life in a collision. The crash occurred when his pickup truck collided with a toll plaza on the New Jersey Turnpike.
State troopers were swiftly on the scene, responding to the crash just before 4 a.m. near exit 16W in East Rutherford, according to state police Sgt. Charles Marchan.
Preliminary findings from the ongoing investigation suggest that the Toyota pickup was heading west on the turnpike exit ramp when it struck the toll plaza’s concrete abutment, resulting in the vehicle overturning. Tragically, the truck then caught fire, and the driver suffered fatal injuries.
Sgt. Charles Marchan emphasized that the crash is currently under investigation, with authorities working to determine the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident.
