First of all I would like to “thank” whatever neighbor complained about my son’s band playing today. These teenagers could be out drinking and doing drugs but instead are playing music every weekend together in my garage!!I thought Ridgewood was sooooo into the “arts”???Sorry for the rant but can’t believe that the police would have to shut them down when playing from 4-6 pm???I call about dogs barking at 3am and can’t get anything done!!!
Ridgewood is about MONEY; yes it is horrible that any neighbor would complain about kids practicing MUSIC in the garage. ANY TIME. Except after 10 p.m.
Ridgewood has become the home of self entitled douche bags and you wonder why the town is turning into a dump ? As my neighbor James Rose once said “the problem us you live here “
Let the childern play
A violation of all that is holy
Tel the neighbors to mind there own business
Cops don’t know the law? You can be loud until 11 at night, right?
Sleeping at 3am that is why you can’t get them to stop the barking dogs.
Nobody wants to hear some crappy music.
Let them play in the basement.
The neighbor shouldn’t have to tolerate inconsiderate newbies .
If you live next to me I d run my leaf blowers to drown out the music
The police need to file the ordinance that’s the law. If they weren’t practicing or playing at the 10 o’clock then the band is following the ordinance by law. The village will lose again. This is such bullshit, who the hell is running this town the Nazis. Every day there’s something else going on In this town. No wonder people are bailing out my god what a shame.
What kind of music?
This is sad for so many reasons.
What a crock of bull shit .
This is so sad. The kids were playing at a decent hour. So they were being considerate of their neighbors.
Let the kids play!
I grew up playing ball in the street and in my neighborhood the parents were understanding and tolerant of the fact that we were just looking for a place to play, so they made sure the cars were out of our way. That was very cool of them! On the few occasions that a car was “in the way” we incorporated that into our game.
Moral of the story is that the neighbors who thought the “noise” was a nuisance could have knocked on their neighbors doors before alerting the police. AND likewise, the police shouldn’t have stopped the kids because they didn’t violate ANY ordinances whatsoever.
The person complaining to the police are influencing politics in town, what more do you need to know why they shut them down
10 pm is the cut off.
Everybody back in the garage and crank it up to 11.
Let the police come and issue a summons and take it to the judge. That’s how it works. Case dismissed.
Everybody back to the garage and crank it up to 12.
Everybody’s happy except said neighbor .
That’s how it works.
Rock On !
There is no mention of time in the Village Noise ordinance.
If you want to use your garage as a studio then you should soundproof it.
It is great that your kids are spending a couple of hours doing something creative, but that doesn’t mean it should be inflicted on your neighbors.
Your (limited) rights end at your fenceline.
