Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann attended and spoke at the File of Life event held at the Glen Rock Library. This event was presented by Terry Van Delden and Janet Chen of North Jersey Villages. Diane Herrlett of the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Councilwoman Teresa Gilbreath were also in attendance.
This event was held in order to highlight the importance of having a File of Life. This document is extremely important for the elderly and anyone else who is on medication in case of a medical emergency where police and paramedics are called to the home.
The File of Life document outlines what medication you are currently on, the dosage, etc., which is important for paramedics to have access to to ensure you get the best quality of care. It also saves time in cases of emergencies so that police and paramedics do not have to sift through various bottles of medications.
