Ridgewood NJ, according to the PATCH ,Glen Rock Mayor Bruce Packer is joining with nearly 190 other mayors across the United States in the fight against global warming.

Politico tells us that three Democratic candidates for governor have pledged that, if elected, New Jersey will keep following the requirements of the Paris climate accord regardless of President Trump’s decision last week to withdraw the United States from the international pact.

Former U.S. ambassador Phil Murphy, Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex), and former U.S. Treasury official Jim Johnson all said last week that they would follow the lead of California, Massachusetts, New York, Washington and other states that have committed to keep following the Paris agreement in the wake of Trump’s decision.

Our questions is has anyone of these politicians read the “Paris Accord”  ? Did you miss the part where American taxpayers will be sending over a $100 billion dollars over seas in a massive transfer of wealth with almost no impact on climate at all?

The Clean Power Plan and oil fee taken together would have an effect comparable to a $30-per-ton carbon tax, which would cost households in the lowest income quintile $20 billion annually. That is equivalent to raising their federal tax burden more than 160 percent. Crushing the poor whom energy is a far larger part of their overall expenses.

Sorry climate alarmist , the sum of many pledges to do nothing is: nothing. When the Massachusetts Institute of Technology compiled the pledges and compared them with its own preexisting projection, it found a temperature reduction by 2100 of only 0.2°C and when the analysts compared the pledges with the projection created by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change back in 2000, they found no improvement at all.

This is all before you discuss weather “climate change”  is not science but nothing more than a hoax ,like Y2K  to generate subsidies  for a handful of rich and powerful ,destroying the American middle class  and make themselves even richer off taxpayer funded mandates.

  1. You can bet the uber-left liberal NY governor (who takes a decidedly Republican, conservative approach to business via pro business policies, tax credits and easing of regulations resulting in a booming economy in NY) will NOT follow the Paris accords.
    .
Unfortunately we live in a state that is the butt of jokes within and outside of the United States and actions and positions like those take by these candidates (who will be soundly supported by a majority of the electorate) sadly reinforce that view.
    .

  2. If Glen Rock did it that means Voigt has probably already drafted the emails complaining the Mayor wont sign it. Did he email the Record before the mayor suggested Ridgewood sign a pledge? Who was first? What did they say about each other. Here come the FOIA requests.

That having been said, look for Murphy to make NJ a leader on climate rules going forward. If we create rules on emissions with CA, NY and MA it will force auto manufacturers and others to adhere to the stricter standards because they cant afford to lose that many consumers.

  3. Welcome to a world where science is considered to be an opinion. Alternate facts

    1. ok lets see some science and then lets see how my tax dollars are going to fix “global warming”, Massachusetts Institute of Technology compiled the pledges and compared them with its own preexisting projection, it found a temperature reduction by 2100 of only 0.2°C and when the analysts compared the pledges with the projection created by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change back in 2000, they found no improvement at all.

  4. UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE

    “Nationally determined contributions

The Paris Agreement requires all Parties to put forward their best efforts through “nationally determined contributions” (NDCs) and to strengthen these efforts in the years ahead. This includes requirements that all Parties report regularly on their emissions and on their implementation efforts.

Further information on NDCs can be found here.

In 2018, Parties will take stock of the collective efforts in relation to progress towards the goal set in the Paris Agreement and to inform the preparation of NDCs.

There will also be a global stocktake every 5 years to assess the collective progress towards achieving the purpose of the Agreement and to inform further individual actions by Parties. “

    1. any scientists in this report? , well at lest you didn’t quote Al gore

  5. Welcome to a world where science is considered to be an opinion. Alternate facts”
    .
Agree wholeheartedly. this Global Warming Climate Change set of alternate facts, opinions doctrine are being held up as scientific fact when the real science shows that there is no catastrophic man-made Climate Change ne Global Warming occurring.
    .
I know… I’ve lived through this before in 1973 with the prediction of Global Cooling aka The Big Freeze – but we were smarter then and dismissed the hysterical rantings of the left rather than accepting their alternate facts as science.

  6. “Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals1 show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. ”

4:20 Where is the “real science”? Climate scientists have reached consensus. Who are you to say that they are wrong? Did you Google something? Did you listen to some fanatic with a podcast espouse his opinions?

    1. https://realclimatescience.com/2016/12/100-of-us-warming-is-due-to-noaa-data-tampering/ Fake data and thats old news

btw in real science there is no consensus and no deniers , thats called religion

  7. The realclimatescience blog that you linked to demonstrates that for $9.95/ month anyone can have a web site.

Tony Heller is not a climate scientist. He is a self-described “free thinker”. He has not conducted any climate research. He is just a skeptic. Like people who believe that humans coexisted with dinosaurs.

His blog is over the top anti-science.

    1. works for Bill Nye

  8. 4 out of 5 dentist surveyed recccomend Trident…

  9. Choosy mothers choose Jif
    Particular people pick Peter Pan
    .
    Undisputed… it’s settled science.
    .

  10. 9:49 Tell me that you believed that that was science too.

Bill Nye is great for explaining science to children and adults who slept through class. He is a smart guy and great communicator.

There are over 4,000 climate studies. 97% point to global warming. The realscience website produces no research. It gets “data” from blogs, tv interviews and the air

  11. Ha Ha … politically driven, results oriented “climate studies” – which do not apply any real scientific rigor and are mostly self referential.
    Yeah… that’s real science.
Go back to church.. Al Gore misses you.

  12. I think that climate change exists but why does the US have to spend a fortune to get other countries to agree to the accord? I would assume most countries did it for the money offered, not the fact of climate change.
