Poll: Chris Christie Poised for reelection landslide

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie continues to sail toward reelection, with a new poll on Tuesday a week before Election Day showing him with a 2-1 lead over his Democratic opponent.

Christie leads state Sen. Barbara Buono 64 percent to 31 percent in a Quinnipiac poll. He leads across most demographic groups, and even picks up support of 31 percent of Democrats. (Kopan/Politico)

  1. He is a moderate Republican that Democrats can vote for. The party needs more like him if they want to win elections.

Not a t party whack job.

  2. Not in Bergen County however.

He is gone with his Bus to no where. All these phony polls can’t be trusted.

  3. What #1 said.

NJ is a moderate-to-liberal state who will support moderate Republicans (Tom Kean, anyone?). They will not support a tea party nutjob.

Same is true throughout the northeast, upper Midwest, and West coast states.

    1. Is that why Lonegan got more votes than Romney ?

  4. But we do enthusiastically support nutjob (sic) socialists.

  5. Lonegan for more votes than Romney because the vote was held on a low-turnout day.

If they held the vote next Tuesday, when the entire state shows up to vote, then Booker would’ve won by 20 points.

    1. lonagan’s totals where higher on a “low turn” out

  6. Can we forget about Steve Lonegan? Thankfully his political career peeked as a small town Mayor….and is now officially over.

    1. that remains to be seen

  7. Lonegan will never win a statewide election because his views do not represent NJ’s. He’s much further to the right than NJ GOP voters.

Maybe he can find a Congressional district and win, like Scott Garrett has done.

    1. Yes Scott Garrett wins in a very liberal district ,including Ridgewood

  8. Scott Garrett wins because the 5th District includes all of Sussex County — the most conservative county in NJ

    1. Garret won left leaning Ridgewood by a landslide

  9. 5,179 to 4,487 is a landslide? I don’t think so.

Marge Roulema regularly carried the vote in Ridgewood by *much* larger margins — even in elections where the Village voted for Clinton.

House of Representatives vote in Ridgewood in 2012:
    Scott Garrett – 5,179
    Adam Gussen – 4,487
    Patricia Alessandrini – 194

  10. Marge was a RHINO.
