Leaf blowers should have a much more limited decibel range (and that is a legal action that can be taken). You note that all users are wearing sound proof ear protectors. Unfortunately, the student walking home from school or the passenger waiting for a bus, or just kids playing in their own homes or yards have no such protection. In much of Europe during WWII, people were required to have their gas masks with them at all times. Will the constant leaf blower noise soon require us all to carry ear protectors?
Village Council should enact a ban on these devices similar to the one just instituted in Maplewood.

absolutely ban! I hear it almost everyday in the summer. Each neighbor has a different landscaping schedule. Annoying
They do not bother me at all. Our landscaper and the neighbor’s all use blowers.

Why dont neighbors get together and hire the same lawn maintenance company? Its not necessary for govt to be involved in every aspect of our lives!

I got excited when I read about what Maplewood was doing. When things like this happen, what do you know, the manufacturers find a way to put noise dampers or whatever on the equipment. Those things are primitive and could surely be improved, but it won’t happen because they are cheap and it isn’t being required.
