This a distressing attack on a neighbor and a friend of mine. Siobhan grew up in Ridgewood, extensively volunteers her time across the Village, supports (with time and money) great causes that help make the Village a better place for all of us. She works very hard the keep RWMD a place for constructive dialogue. Attacking a resident is a sad statement on the nasty Village we have become. You put yourself out there and not everyone is going to like what they hear you say. Siobhan is the first to try to bring people together for the better.

The agenda for RWMAD is to be kind and create a safe place for the RW only community and to discuss and debate issues and no shaming, swearing or bullying. Rules are posted and it has a healthy and robust membership. On occasion, conversations break the rules and are deleted, including mine. They are trying to uphold a set of standards across a diverse spectrum of residents and do a damn good job. Perfect no, but applaud their hard work. Like any FB page if you don’t like the rules, you can choose not to post.
That’s the difference with RWMADWFS and ITARWV who manage a free for all reality TV type of page, that is not fact checked, that allows people to bully pages, people and swear, mute people during elections and then eventually kick them out because their views are different.
Regardless, we have a fractured town and that’s what we should be talking about, the issues not the people. The readers comments that prompted this and the Blogs reposting … IS part of the problem.

Text book narcissistic personality disorder — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others.
Not slandering any official. I am going to share the story of a Volunteer who in writing cyber bullied me and was allowed to retain her volunteer position. I did get an email from Heather where she referred to her behavior was abhorrent. ( I have saved everything) And then hopefully open up a dialogue about a Social Media Civility policy which is long overdue.
I had a fabulous conversation with a reporter from the Bergen Record. I am really excited to see how maybe sharing a very upsetting event can prevent it from happening to others.
It just feels good to know that sometimes you can use your pain to help others.

The bullying and disgraceful, childish behavior that goes on in this blog, and mostly behind the mask of the “anonymous” label is perfect evidence of the cowardice and hate that exists in our community.
The daily effort on the FB page (Ridgewood Moms and Dads) to protect the children in this community, (one of the predominant reasons that a post is removed), along with managing posts from adults who find themselves unable to manage the decorum to refrain from swearing in their posts, should simply leave the site.
The need to bully and call people out is devastating. Interesting that one commented that our community is sold on the experience of the RWMAD site, because people maintain a sense of decorum and participate in a civil and respectful way. The other sites may have followers, but the numbers pale in comparison because no one wants to spend their free time around the hatred and gossip that resides on the other sites.
Please. I implore you. Stop the hatred.

Please recognize that the original blog statement is false and very sexist as it does not recognize that there are two moderators on the Ridgewood Moms and Dads facebook page, who work together to support our community. The only person being attacked in this article is the female moderator and not the male moderator. I find that to be tremendously disturbing.

AT Hawes, you enter the gym and do not even see or go near the children. At the High School there are gates preventing you from going beyond the polling place in the gym. Siobhan and others are just fear mongers. Their sole goal is to prevent citizens from voting on the Board of Education proposed budgets. These individuals hold the Board and Fishbein in such HIGH regard (they think they are infallible) that they want to deny citizens their legal right to vote on these budget proposals. This is Jeanne Thiesen who wrote on social media that she wanted to prevent certain individuals from speaking at BOE meetings to “filter” them out. She and all of them are controlling, insane, disturbed people.

One of the saddest things about this town is the schadenfreude of watching the always online gang of cyberbullies in the Facebook groups and on this blog. Like most, I’ve joined all of the overlapping and redundant FB groups and check this blog every few months to keep an eye on what is being said by this group. What was initially an occasionally entertaining sideshow has unfortunately devolved into witnessing the constant harassment of other residents or public servants – or worse, the village’s children. This group of poorly adjusted adults seems to be in constant need of inventing new boogeymen to rally their vitriol towards so that they can pat themselves on the back and constantly reaffirm their mistaken belief of self-importance.
There are not massive conspiracies to overrun the schools, turn Ridgewood into a giant parking garage, suppress speech or give our kids cancer through tire crumbs. Our children are not irredeemable racists who should be shamed into exile at age 14. This is not a former Soviet satellite state or antebellum South Carolina. The Council, past and present, are doing their best to respond to the issues facing the town in the 21st century – which means trade-offs where required by law or economic necessity. Our kids are growing up and making mistakes – they do not need a gang of bullies in their mid-40s to digitally amplify and memorialize every mistake they make.
The always online cyberbullies are the Salem villagers during the witch hunts. They are the prison guards in the Stanford Prison Experiment. They are bullies. So deep in the weeds of harassing fellow citizens or attempting to shame school-age children that they either have lost their sense of decency or never had one to begin with. Hopefully they develop a sense of intellectual honesty to engage in occasional self-reflection. Or at the very least, develop a sense of shame.
Finally someone exposed Siobhan and her puppet (other admin). She is a sad excuse for a moderator and is divisive and outright ridiculous with her censorship. She has got to go! Pronto
