Reader says Full-Day Kindergarten was really about Daycare

kindergarten-cop-comedy

If I had a dollar for every housewife how admitted AfTER the election that the REAL reason they wanted it was because they then wouldn’t have to pay for daycare, I’d be able to pay my tax increase and yours. Lazy parenting. Entitled short sighted half brains.

  1. Do you mean working mother? Why would someone staying home to provide childcare (a “housewife”) need to pay for daycare?

    .
…because non-working Ridgewood mothers (a “housewife”) are more interested in going to the club, the spa, the tennis court and lunch with other Ridgewood “housewives”.
    .
…and never forget that people with money do not like to spend their money if they can get something for free.
    .

  3. There are a lot of terms from the 50’s that do not carry meaning today. “Housewife” is one of them.

Women and men who give up their jobs to raise a family are giving up a lot – Status, identity, salary & benefits.

I have returned to the workforce and I admire my coworkers who step back to raise their children.

All day K is a perk for working parents. Cuts down on childcare costs. It has no lasting benefit for the child.

  4. And the REAL reason people with 4 kids move into 600k houses it to mooch off the school system, paying 1/2 a child’s education worth of taxes to send 4 through a school.

I call them the greatest moochers of Ridgewood. And I say this as a supporter of full day pre-K who has 0 kids in the school system and yet pay 2 kids worth of property taxes. To educate the kids of the moochers above.

  5. 10.53. This is what creates the churn and turn and let’s you get out at Par or with a Gain.

  6. 1:28: 10:53 could also very legitimately argue that extending full day kindergarten – something that is almost uniformly available in Ridgewood-like communities across the state – is important the keep the schooling system in line with those.

I know some of these people making these disgusting comments about sending their kids away for free and saddling ‘taxpayers’ with the cost. The irony is that most of them are not really ‘taxpayers’ as they take out 5x+ of what they contribute to the system.
