The parking enforcement crew will be licking their chops as they rack up more tickets .lf they lose more new business and visitors every week than any perceived lack of peak parking .its by design ..a canard…mismanagement run amuck..god forbid a visitor to the town doesn’t park nose in…they fix their wagon…big fat welcome to parking hell.. Fines …and don’t let the door hit you on your A…
The problem with the parking is that the employees take up all the prime spaces. Why should I walk from the lots when I can park on the street for the same cost. Street parking should be raised to charge more for the prime spots. Time limits should be lowered to 2 hours which is plenty of time to shop in any store or eat in any restaurant. Repeat parking isn’t being enforced.
I went to Staples in Paramus last week at opening time. There were three other people waiting in cars for the store to open. They were in the spots closest to the store entrance. They all went into the store before me because they worked there. Do you think the store owners and employees are only stupid in Paramus?
The village parking people come up with plans that make sense to them. Different prices and methods of payment are confusing.
Best way to avoid a ticket is to avoid the downtown. There are plenty of places to shop and eat in Bergen and the surrounding area.
The parking garage should have been built and would have given a small faction of social gadflys who screwed the pooch. I will NEVER patronize not he CBD. EVER.
Being a long time resident of the village i very seldom have a difficult time finding parking in town, but unlike some others i have no problem walking a few blocks. All this crying about the lack of parking is Bull.
I always get a parking spot. Sometimes it’s blocks away, but I still get a spot.
Once again, please remember those of us who can’t walk “a few blocks” after we find a space. I can’t remember the last time we ate in Ridgewood. Pearl usually has a spot near it but none of the others do.
