In my area D, the leaves where not picked up until after the first snow fall. So much of the leaves had been pushed onto the side walk by the snow plows. Well, needless to say the leaves where left on the side walk by clean up crew. And they just pushed the leaves around and pushed them onto the walk way. So now you have to jump over the mound of leaves to cross the street. So now parts of the west side around Dorimus Ave. have leaves all over the street and sidewalks. This is going to cause a problem with the storm drains and it looks awful. The town has paid for leaf clean-up but there is no clean-up, It’s just a mess. Leaf clean up in area D is a disgrace.
Heather: Do not blame the snow and freezing weather for leaf pick up being behind schedule. The current leaf collection process is antiquated – slow, time consuming, personnel intensive, equipment intensive, dangerous, and expensive; that’s the problem. The people in charge of leaf collection don’t want to change the process because it ensures they keep their jobs. Buy one or two of the single operator, automated leaf vacuum shredders and stop the madness now.
Unless the village kept to the letter of their schedule, not one homeowner should receive an $85 holiday ‘gift’ from VH. If we are 1 day early putting out leaves, we get fined. If they are 2-3 weeks late, no big deal.
It is truly unbelievable that the leaves are still on the streets. No other town still has leaves in the street except Ridgewood. The village aggressively sent tickets and pushed all to stick to the published schedules for leaves in the street.
Who gets the tickets and fine when the village does not meet their obligation? This is a dangerous mess entirely caused by mismanagement.
They’re still picking up leaves in Glen Rock too.

I got screwed by the town for $85 for putting out leaves a little early since I was traveling.
They then sat there for three weeks since they never pick up when they say they do.
Same old story,…we need a radically different plan. The Village never gets it right.
This town is getting less desirable every year and I see no turn around in the near future.
Quality of life is deteriorating,

THERE WAS NO SCHEDULE FOR LEAF PICK-UP!!!!! The schedule was for leave put-out. What the heck is wrong with the citizens in Ridgewood? Can they NOT read? and that means you, 11:55am. Read the information that was sent to your home and that was posted on the Village website. It clearly states that the dates provided are for leaf put-out and that leaves will be picked up sometime after that date.
Village idiots.
