There is no ignorance about the procedures for hiring police and fire. The hateful comments are driven by blind, unreasonable hatred of Mayor Knudsen. This completely unwarranted animosity is driven by two men, who post incessantly one is pissed that a 90′ field did not go in at Schedler. The other has undying devotion to Roberta, and thus will spit constantly at anyone who disliked her.

Great post! Having a 90’ft field next to a 55MPH highway and in the middle of a neighborhood was sheer idiocy. And while speaking of idiocy how anyone can defend the bombastic, ignorant, overly opinionated, failure to abide by laws or regulations, former Village Mgr, rotund Roberta is beyond me.

Mayor is not perfect but much better than anyone on the Aronsohn/Sonenfeld side. VC in general though needs to be better including the village manager.
The Mayor and her cronies cry foul, but they were the same vocal minority who actually vote in municipal elections and lost their minds about Gwen Hauck’s conflicts over Valley – even though the Valley expansion never made it to a Council vote while Gwen served. Susan took money for her campaign from people who live right by Schedler, including her parents, so to pass the smell test, she should recuse herself from any Council or planning board discussions on Schedler… but she doesn’t recuse. Given her sons now serve on the RPD and Fire Dept, she should recuse herself from any discussion on CBAs or annual budgets from the RPD and RFD. Instead her and her supporters cite Civil service rules, and a friendly judge’s ruling that she is not conflicted. Doesn’t pass the smell test, sorry folks. She should take the high road and recuse herself, instead of doing everything possible to enrich her family and spend our Municipal tax dollars on removing dead growth Schedler, a property which the Village has no business owning. The Mayor won’t run again, but her term has not served Ridgewood taxpayers well.
Didn’t see any hateful comments towards the Ridgewood police. Stop the Bkue Walk malarkey. It’s fact they’re paid amongst the highest wages & benefits of any cops in the country for the service they provide in a white collar town. Once Valley leaves we won’t need 40+ cops serving a Village of under 25,000. You don’t like taxpayers complaining about excessive police wages & benefits in Ridgewood – which are not hateful comments – then join the force in Paterson, Newark, Trenton or Camden instead.
Doesn’t really matter, there won’t be any funds left to pay out defined benefit pensions by the time the Mayor’s sons retire in 25 years.

If you decide recuses based on campaign contributions the Village has to vacate any high density housing ordinances. Arinsohn took major money from developers. I’d be happy with that and still trust Knudsen one hundred percent. The original post is correct.
Hauck gave tens of thousands of dollars to valley and somehow had the non profit records changed. Does anyone really believe there was a typo?
I’ll be voting for Knudsen. Remember folks Aronshin =Hauck=halaby=willet=delzio=sonenfeld and the rest are bad for ridgewood.
We should probably initiate a separate RPD traffic division. Road work plus building construction (trucks) plus increased pedestrian and automobile traffic in the downtown area equal the potential for many more accidents and injuries on the roads.
