Your figures are 100% wrong and worse yet, don’t tell the complete picture. There are currently 94 homes for sale in Ridgewood, not 200. There are over 7,400 homes in Ridgewood, so 94 is hardly significant. You fail to point out that median home prices have gone up in Ridgewood more than in the surrounding towns. You also failed to mention that homes for sale in Ridgewood stay a very short number of days on the market. This all means that for every person who is selling, there are a lot more folks looking to buy. If you really are in the real estate market, you need to brush up on your data and the principles of supply and demand.

FYI the current Ridgewood market snapshot as of right this minute:

91 Available
68 Under Contract
187 Sold (since 1/1/2017)

As for age ranges and motivation, all that is opinion and conjecture.

  1. If this is true, what was the motivation of the original poster, whose negative comments sounded rather un-realtor like in bashing the town? Also it should be stated that summer is a prime time for selling because buyers with children are looking to start the school year in their new home rather than breaking up children’s school year in two places.

  2. Is it 94 or 91?

In my immediate neighborhood there have been sales all over the place, with UNDER CONTRACT signs on several homes and some having been removed after the sale was completed. It’s an active market for sure.

  3. Actually the market has slowed down in June and July if you look at the records we’ve been busy watch in April and May the market has Changed people putting their homes on the market February to sell their house by June

  4. How do up the presses is 107 homes on the market as we speak that are listed with a broker. And there are 42 homes in the village that are for sale by homeowner no broker Out of the 47 they have signs on their home for sale by owner registered under the sign ordinance so that brings it to 149 and still counting how many people are selling their homes in the paper by owner without a sign that number would be interesting because many people are private I’ve been following this unique market for 25 years and I bet you that all the blogger is right it is close to 175

  5. Regardless of the actual figures, no one can dispute that Ridgewood is in decline and is a former shell of its past glory.
    It’s settled science.

  6. Time to sell is now, wait until the next bubble burst oh boy. remember last time people spend their savings this time there is no savings

  7. Settled science? People are still buying into town. If you think the town has gone down this would be a good time to sell.

  8. 3:47 must be a luddite flat-earther … its settled science – RW is in decline.
