Reader says The Ridgewood FAC needs to be killed, and killed now. Swiftly and painlessly

Ridgewood Yard Signs

The Committee was not given too much to do. Under the direction of failed VC candidate Evan Weitz they have taken on way more than their charter. Now he wants to be in on contract negotiations with the police and fire departments. Is Weitz for f’ing real? We do not need volunteers working on confidential negotiations. Also, we now have Bob Rooney to do pretty much everything the Committee was formed for. The FAC needs to be killed, and killed now. Swiftly and painlessly.

  1. Thanks for the input Mr Fireman or Mr Policeman but, excuse me, your agenda is showing. Why would we want the FAC involved in the contract review? Because when they have done contract reviews in the past (and they have done many) they have made suggestions THAT SERVE THE TAXPAYERS in Ridgewood not the cabal of public sector unions that choke the life out of our local budgets. What experience does the mayor have reading contracts — other than the public service offer letters dished out to her whole family that is…

  2. 9:31…Excuse me but the mayor does not get involved in contract negotiations. A committee of volunteers should not participate in negotiations that involve confidential information. Doing so can put the village at risk. And if they have done so in the past, it was an illegal action that should be investigated. FAC is at the whim of the council and should get involved only in matters requested by the council. FAC works for the council, not the other way around. What is the FAC currently working on that was requested by the council??

  3. Oh and 9:31…thank you for your input Evan or any of the six members of Progress Ridgewood.

  4. Nice comments Jackie.

  5. If the FAC wants to expand their power maybe they should be required to complete a financial disclosers report

  6. The FAC is a ridiculous group of people who fancy themselves as being important and have aligned themselves with the powder keg known as Jeff Voigt. Time to kill the FAC

  7. End the FAC

  8. If the Mayor does not have experience – she should hire professionals like Roberta did. Volunteers who are not under an oath and who have not disclosed their conflict of interest and whose emails cannot be searched SHOULD NOT be able to see any confidential documents.
Evan is a lawyer – not a finance expert. Why is he chairman? Just because he is in the same group as Paul and Roberta?

  9. We had no CFO when the FAC was formed for all the wrong reasons. Before it turns into a snakepit of self-aggrandizement, let’s shut it down. We have a CFO now.

  10. 9:30 is right. The FAC has to go
