Public sector worker greed has destroyed the state of NJ…. worst state finances, worst state economy, net migration out, highest state & local property taxes in the U.S.A. Until we vote out the Democrats in Trenton and the public safety, teacher and NJ Transit lackeys in our municipalities, it will get worse.

  1. In other words, there is a 100 percent chance it will get worse!

  2. True…but it strikes me that Rdgewood is in a particularly poor situation. Not enough new business or growth of existing ones, but more housing and new residents. Members of the last council used to say high density housing was better for Brogan site than say a big drug store, but as far as taxes and quality of life go I really disagree. With most retail closed on Sunday Ridgewood becomes less desirable, but the revenue needs to come from somewhere….

    1. all retail is closed in Bergen County on Sundays been that way since it was a dutch colony and its never going to change

  3. The following is from the Wilipedia entry for “Blue Laws”:

    New Jersey

In 1677, the General Assembly of East New Jersey banned the “singing of vain songs or tunes” on Sabbath.[35]

One of the last remaining Sunday closing laws in the United States that covers selling electronics, clothing and furniture is found in Bergen County, New Jersey.[36][37][38] Bergen County, part of the New York metropolitan area, has one of the largest concentrations of enclosed retail shopping malls of any county in the nation; four major malls lie within the county. Paramus in Bergen County, where three of the four major malls are located, has even more restrictive blue laws than the county itself, banning all type of work on Sundays except in grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, hotels, restaurants, and other entertainment venues. As recently as 2010, Governor Chris Christie had proposed the repeal of these Blue Laws in his State Budget,[39] but many Bergen County officials vowed to maintain them.[40] Two days later, Christie predicted his plan for the repeal was unsuccessful.[41] Car dealerships are not allowed to be open or do business on Sundays anywhere in the state. In November 2012, Christie issued an executive order to temporarily suspend the blue law due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.[42] The blue law was suspended on November 11 but was back in effect on November 18.[43]

  4. Of course James. But you know the rest of the state is open?

  5. James, are you sure about that? Libs are attempting to change the history of the US, changing a blue law is nothing for them. I just hope they don’t go for it. Oh, and I feel sorry for the bear statue by the train station. Pretty soon the mob will probably bring it down as a symbol of colonialism. It for sure sure looks like a symbol of slavery. Oh the times we live in. Massive public mental disease, very hard to keep sanity.

  6. The only good part is that we are third in queue – behind Illinois and Connecticut.

  7. Bruce 9:33 Bears it all…was hoping Yogi @Franklin would be deputized for local causes such as tear down this new rental slum…

  8. Wasn’t the Yogi@Franklin bear statue seen wearing a red MAGA hat last night while the granola-crunching Birkenstock-shod Kumbaya-singing Trump-haters were at Emmanuel Church actively avoiding admitting to the detestable, malignant wave of unopposed left-wing violence in this country?
