Reader says Transit Village would do nothing positive for long paying average homeowners and excessive tax levies for schools

high density housing Ridgewood

Point is they developers and friends would sell out any sane limitations on scale, building heights,
location ,appropriateness of type of business or residential multi family units as they jet out of here with the cash in hand.no less impact on school Registration cost of supporting rental and new owned condo families.

Garazilla 2 is the opening door to other developments after ken smith gets its free pass during summer at the shore VC sweetheart deal on developer possibly contributing to Traffic Light Costs w town exposed on the total cost overruns and traffic nightmare,Transit Village would do nothing positive for long paying average homeowners and excessive tax levies for schools and lack of consolidation of area towns services

  1. I’m willing to change my (apparently) quixotic stance against Garagzilla if someone shows me how to board the developer’s money train.

  2. Easy–sell your soul to hooligans and have no qualms about ripping off your friends and neighbors. Ka-CHING!

  3. Yeah I want the 50’s back too… hahaha….

    1. Pete do you really want to live in Union City and pay Ridgewood taxes ?

  4. Little Havana is pretty nice. I see we’ve worked our way up from “we’re becoming Hackensack”…will it be “we’re becoming Camden” next?

    1. you could live in Camden now much cheaper , if you dont like Camden New Jersey is full of dumpy third rate ,unappealing , low quality of life places to live

  5. They have a nice aquarium and battleship too… we paid for them

    1. never been to the aquarium , but the battleship is cool, there is lots of construction in Camden with a big expansion at the Rutgers campus at the moment. The great Philly area is booming

  6. I think Camden has been listed as the most dangerous city in the state or the country or the universe or something.

  7. 7:00 pm – actually, Bridgeton won the “most dangerous city” in NJ this year! Not sure what the criteria were but I’m staying out of Bridgeton and Camden.

  8. @7:00….yes and according to a very few “well informed” anonymous residents, that’s where our “quaint” village is heading. You can’t make this stuff up.

  9. pesmith,11:00 am are you for or against multi family Apartment or large Condo development in the business district?Camden might be an extreme example but the center of the business district
Train area for transit village buildout would be self inflicted damage to so many basic functions of a business district such as traffic, congestion, more car pollution and pedestrian risks of car injuries by crossing a narrow main streets avenues that are bad enough today.

  10. I’m all for high density housing and the garage. We have deserted properties that are an eyesore. I like the idea of getting some more vibrancy into town. As far as Ridgewood tanking, Ridgewood ,Glen Rock and Ho Ho Kus all made the NICHE 2017 100 Best Places to Buy a House list
