This vote is completely tainted. The Board of Elections needs to come to Ridgewood and shut down the process. No vote on June 21. The vote should not take place. How do we make this happen?
The election needs to be stopped. This is grossly illegal that government money was used to finance a campaign telling residents how to vote. That website is paid for by all of us. Those employees who were busy being videotaped should have been working instead of making a propaganda tape. Mayor Aronsohn may be walked out of Village Hall in handcuffs before this is over. Well, wouldn’t that make a fun video for Dana’s go-pro!!!

I have a few questions. How much did it cost to make this video with the I assume drone shots, who put the video together, how much village employee time was spent, and how many misrepresentations were in the video. I will certainly vote NO now.
How much did this high end video cast us residents? Who are these employees? Are they tax payers? Ridgewood has hit a new low. We need an investigation in to the money spent on this video and the employees . Where is the League of Women Voters on all this?
Yes…any lawyers in the house? they are in clear violation of the Hatch Act it would seem to me. What I believe to be relevant:
“They may register and vote, assist in voter registration drives, express opinions about candidates and issues, contribute money to political organizations or attend fundraisers, join a political party or club, sign and circulate nominating petitions, campaign for or against referendum questions and candidates in partisan elections, and other related activities.
WHILE ENGAGING IN THESE ACTIVITIES EMPLOYEES MUST BE ACTING IN THEIR PERSONAL CAPACITY, NOT THEIR OFFICIAL CAPACITY. For example, they should not identify their official title when engaging in any of these activities. Employees may not engage in partisan political activities while in the workplace, or on work time.”
Doesn’t the hatch act relate only to federal elections?
The effectiveness of a position ad can be measured by the volume of those objecting to it.

An employee’s conduct is subject to the laws of the state and the regulations of the employing agency. With respect to those jurisdictions operating under Title 11A of the the New Jersey Civil Service Act, the following provisions apply: “a person holding a position in the career service or senior executive service shall not directly use or seek to use the position to control or affect the political action of another person or engage in political activity during working hours.” N.J.S.A. 11A:2-23
“Hi, this is Mayor Aronsohn with a robo-call telling you how to vote.”
