I find it interesting that Council apologists assume that anyone that disagrees with them is lazy and ignorant. After all, we didn’t run for Council ourselves and we don’t serve on the Planning Board so therefore all we must do is put signs on our lawn and complain.

The fact is, people that take issue with our elected officials tend to be activists and serial volunteers. We tend to take enough time to formulate an educated opinion on the issues that face our town. We also tend to act on those opinions by attending meetings, participating in the process and yes, posting here. 1. I don’t care if someone volunteers 7 days a week. I have an informed opinion and my opinion is just as important.

If they think that being on the council is payback for past volunteering they are wrong. I owe them nothing

  2. Maybe the poster of this blog can put their time where their mouth is instead of just putting out a lawn sign… Members from the Community Center Committee will be painting the walls of the Pat Mancuso Senior Center in the Village Hall Community Center on Saturday, August 23 and 24. Additional volunteers are welcome to help. Time to volunteer !

  3. How arrogant to suggest that my opinion only counts if I help Mrs. Hauck paint the Senior Center. How ignorant to suggest that those the put up lawn signs are lazy do-nothing complainers. Mrs. Hauck (or the apologist that posted here) continues to miss the point and has failed to learn anything from the Valley fiasco. Valley assumed that their opposition was a handful of know-nothing neighbors on Linwood Avenue. They condescended, insulted and ultimately tried to shout down their growing opposition only to lose to a better organized, harder working and more passionate group of residents.

There is another group of very motivated residents that oppose this Council’s approach to closed door (and in some cases illegal) meetings with developers. We are skeptical of “expert” analysis that claims that there will be no adverse impact on traffic, schools or infrastructure. We wonder why our Council is not even considering projects that conform to the existing Master Plan and why they are so cozy with the developers with plans before the town. Oh yea, and a couple of them put signs on their lawns.

I’ll pass on painting the Senior Center this weekend – I’ve already contributed thousands of hours to our schools, youth sports and other town-sponsored events. It’s tripe like this that motivates me to spend as many hours as it takes to defeat you and your developer friends.

  4. I’m not on the Council #3, but obviously neither are you
