Readers think It’s a Little late for “VISIONING “

This is bullshit and too little too late. They should have reached out to us before they started the digging all around CBD. The destiny for RW is on the wall regardless our feedback in this phony “survey”. They have their own image in mind, all of them including this and past VCs and they will implement that. I hate this hypocrisy. They know it is too late, many people have given up fighting and the majority of residents does not care (only 400 people responded). It just makes them feel better……

Of course it is a phony survey with already done deal mutltifamily housing, ugly big parking garage, on narrow crowded streets, cutting away islands at train station, much development over the past three decades, stupid, toxic development , more Starbucks , etc on Rt 17, “civilizing” Schedler, what a frickin tragedy t for the trees and wildlife and US. TREES ARE US. And puttin in trees in the CBD and on street curbs and callin that good environmental practice. Hell, trees thrive in forests.
What the survey is for is for council and planning board to INTERPRET the survey their way and say the residents want ANOTHER parking garage, and to change a residential zone to allow more stores. And of course more apt. buildings. Ha ha You will see, if you stay in town…..

I did – thought it was very poorly worded. Of course questions like “is parking a concern” are going to get everyone in agreement. But, what does that mean? Does it mean you are conerned we need more parking? Or concerned we are overdeveloping downtown, so we’ll have to pay for more parking garages? Or concerned we are overpaying now with the one garage about to be built.
I applaud the effort of reaching out – – but a survey that let’s people argue different things from it is not going to work…..
