Ridgewood NJ, RHS alumni Rob Nelson and Jim Feeney, wanted to have a little fun and explore some of the States before heading off to college in 2003. So the Ridgewood duo, with help from family, friends and fundraising, took a cross-country road trip that summer.

The pair is currently raising money for a new film inspired by their high school road trip:

INSPIRATION ROAD 2021

Coming-of-middle-age road trip buddy story canvassing the great USA.

The film embraces a road trip where two friends search for their true callings.

“After getting dumped by his girlfriend, Bryce quits his job and convinces his best friend Cameron to embark on a road journey that unearths their life callings.

INSPIRATION ROAD is about healing from the trauma of our past, connecting to all of those around us in a meaningful way, appreciating where we’ve come from, respecting our planet Earth, tasting and awakening to the spiritual — it’s about acceptance, love, serenity, hope, peace and joy in looking towards a brighter future.

This film is reflective of the times and addresses other personal and culturally relevant topics such as: homophobia, racism, mental health, national and international politics, climate change, life and friendship.”

The two offer an impressive track record and are looking to raise another $16,000 to finish the project .

In 2017, we raised just under $30K, and with those funds we shot roughly one third of INSPIRATION ROAD. Our immediate goal now is to raise that same amount in order to shoot the next third of the film in Arizona in August/September 2021. Last year, we raised about $14k, so it is our hope to raise the remaining $16k during this crowd fund! If we surpass this goal, fantastic *stretch goals*, these funds would go towards completing the final portions of INSPIRATION ROAD (2022).

The plan is still to shoot in Arizona, California (and eventually South Dakota), which is very important to the story and unfortunately costs more than shooting in our backyards! It takes a small army, a lot of resources and logistics to make an independent film: Cast, Crew (DP, Sound, Script Supervisor, Grips, Gaffers, PAs, Editors, Colorist, Sound Designer, Mixer, etc.), Locations Fees, Insurance, Equipment (Camera, Lenses, Grip Truck, Dolly, Audio, Drives, etc.), Transportation, Props, Costuming, Food, etc. Plus time, planning, and facilitating during pre-production, production, and post-production. It is and has been a long, on-going process. We couldn’t and WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU! WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
