Ridgewood NJ, on Thursday, thousands of Village of Ridgewood residents were automatically added to the Village’s Emergency Notification System through a mass update. Residents received phone calls, texts, and emails informing them of their inclusion, with contact information pulled from Village tax records, parks and recreation sign-ups, and pet licenses.
Previously, the system operated on an “opt-in” basis, which left many households without important notifications. This gap became evident during the Boil Water Advisory on September 21, 2024, when several residents missed the alert due to not being enrolled in the system.
The new approach ensures that all residents are now automatically enrolled and will receive timely notifications during true emergencies, such as active shooter situations, train derailments, water emergencies, or extreme weather events. This update provides greater safety and preparedness for the community.
For any questions or updates to your contact information, you can reach out to the Village’s Office of Emergency Management.

The hysteria over a boil water advisory that lasted less than a day and residents were never at risk.
first world taxes, third world water company
How many who received the notification immediately opted out?
Whoever opts out deserves whatever calamity they chose not to be notified of.
Imagine my surprise to get a call from the Whistleblower Guy…
This is no big deal, There’s 8.000 residents just in Ridgewood what about the other three towns? Who cares if they have number but water still sucks. It’s good to water your lawn nuts about it maybe take a shower. You’re not drinking it. Remember people a few years ago I’m not sure if it’s still going on today, but they had water being delivered to Village Hall, remember that, that’s embarrassing. Is it still going on that? I can’t give you an answer I do know what’s going on other departments because they remove the water fountains. What a dam joke.
So many water customers are so angry regarding the taste and smell of the water.
Oh yeah, to the Director of water, anyone can use the word (angry) You got that asshole.☠️
