Ridgewood NJ, Board of Education candidate Dan Creed claims someone using “fake Facebook profiles ” has been attacking him and Board candidate Muhammad Mahmoud . Creed immediately called for you guessed it, “civility” .
Dan Creed posted on Facebook ,”I spent most of the day yesterday calling anybody I could think of to see if they knew her or had heard of her- nothing.
I sent several messages to her through Messenger- nothing. Public records- nothing. Tax Records- nothing. I asked one of the administrators of this site who was posting with her if she knew her- she did not.
Everyone will have to decide for themselves, but one thing I do know is that if true, this stuff does not belong in our town.”

I choose not to spend time posting pics on Facebook and so you won’t see much activity or even a profile picture for me. People who routinely participate in Buy Nothing / freecycle / recycle Facebook groups know that Messenger can be problematic if you don’t regularly communicate with someone – it is quite routine that one cannot see messages from someone they are not friends with. Fake profiles would be nasty thing to do so sure hope that’s not it. Were you actually conducting a paid search of records?”
Humm…………………….so a couple of observations , first its easy to create a fake Facebook profile ,Facebook critics often refer to Facebook as Fakebook , not really sure in this case what would be the upside ? Ridgewood is a bit clique-ie making this hard to pull off with any credibility .
The second and more sinister view alleges that coming from a group of people who call everyone a racist who attempt to debate them, use words like “civility” to silence dissent and have threatened to “silence ” people (whatever that means) for voicing opinions, some readers have suggested its a put up job by desperate candidates looking to gain sympathy ,cast dispersion’s on their rivals and grab power . In time we are sure the truth will be told .
Dan Creed is clinically insane. For Gods sake do not elect a moron who spends countless hours chasing down a Facebook phantom. Move on Dan
Many people choose not to use their real names on Facebook, but are real people. And why does Dan Creed need to know the name and address of someone who doesn’t like him? Does he plan to throw eggs and/or retaliate in some other fashion? Quite scary to learn that he’s intent on tracking this person down.

How is reminding someone of his previous Facebook posts an “attack”?

Oh Dan, what are you made of? Accusing, attacking, and publicly shaming residents. Claiming residents are lying, when the proof is posted, and calling them fake. All because you got caught with your pants down in public, not exactly elected official material.

Seems very concerning the dani / lembo / Steve kim crew is clearly using fake profiles to astroturf support. The silence after this revelation was deafening. Bad enough a candidate controls speech in a public forum, but this is even worse. Outrageous from the so called ethical ticket. Ridgewood deserves better

Didn’t Dan want to beat up Steve Kim in the library parking lot when Steve asked questions about the circular staircase? Something like that during the library hearings. . He’s one of the rudest guys I have seen on social media and now he’s complaining? I don’t like the teachers contract but his comments about the teachers have been really below the belt, too.
So weird, there used to be a comment from demosthenes on here, but now it’s deleted and says i’m logged in as james. Guess he messed up the controls and left it logged in when he was censoring anti- dani speech on here.

If a post shows up about a bicycle path, the entire Dani Clan responds en masse within an hour. A fake profile gets involved in attacking their opponent, they step out to lunch for a whole weekend. The more minutes that tick by, the worse this looks…

Dan Creed is desperate and downright frightening. So someone has a facebook name that is not their real name. There are a ton of people who do this. Yep, right here in little old Ridgewood. They use different names for various reasons. That does not mean they are FAKE people for God’s sake. Creed is putting so much effort into this witch hunt against someone who does exist but does not use her given name, it is frightening. What is Creed going to do if he finds out her true identity and address – go to her house? Seriously Creed, if you cannot take it when someone criticizes you, then you do not belong in a campaign. You are a pathetic candidate. You have probably lost what few votes you might have had at this point.
My friend uses a fake name on facebook in order to avoid her abusive ex boyfriend. Is Dan Creed going to seek her out and expose her identity? Good lord this guy is nuts. NO CREED

This is the same Dan Creed that is pro turf field and told residents to pound salt unless they had facts and proof.

Dane Creed sounded like a solid guy for the position until I saw his posts about a phantom account that was about to ruin stellar reputation. He either is a thin skinned guy or plainly making things up to help his cause. Deflection tactics like this are well known in politics. Neither is good for me. So long Creed.
