Ridgewood NJ, during Mondays Ridgewood BOE meeting ,Business Administrator Antoinette Kelly summarized a review undertaken with a consultant last school year of the district transportation budget, routes, eligibility, etc. Using Google Maps, the study determined whether the current routes were an accurate reflection of the needs for qualified students.

Home addresses that did not meet distance guidelines but were considered to be on a hazardous route to school were also examined. Recommendations include the upholding of hazardous routes (not state-aid eligible), the continual assessment of eligibility routes, and advance planning for the likely enrollment increase that will come with the apartment complexes currently under construction in the VOR. A database was created for current and future use.

  • The slide portion of the presentation may be viewed here.

During the slide show the Ridgewood School Board finally admitted the new high density housing would impact enrollment ,transportation services, and overall district budget.

“The development of apartment complexes, in the near future within the Village will impact our enrollment, transportation services, and overall district budget. We recommend meeting with the Traffic Safety Department on a regular basis to review the potential impact on the district and the changes and/or additions to transportation they may be needed.”

  1. I’m shocked

  2. At the planning board meetings the planning board members and the lawyers for the developers said it would not, they were arguing vehemently. Everything is Joisey is a lie and a scam. And I mean everything. I huddle in my house afraid to leave except for the farmers market and I wouldn’t be surprised if the produce came from Chile.

I knew it would. We still have to wait and see. Unless requirements are no children, there will be children. As long as Saraceno and Bolger etc make a lot of money. That is what counts. And that is what counts to the planning board that made the decision.

  3. Shocker! You mean that Saraceno, Aronsohn and company lied to us when they said that there would only be 3 kids added to the system because the apartments would only be occupied by empty nesters? Next up – remember they told us that there would be LESS traffic because the apartment dwellers would be taking the train everywhere?

  4. What’s wrong with Chile?

  5. Surprise surprise!

  6. No shit . And not just the school s . What about all the town s services.
    Oh yeah!

  7. Well with the planning board says it’s not going to affect any thing. Then we do not want to hear they need to hire more police and fire.

  8. Are people EVER going to admit that the three amigos got PAID something for perpetrating this crime on Ridgewood?

  9. Where are the liars hiding now?

  10. The three Amigos were horrible, but you have to have PROOF that they were paid something. YOU voted them in. NOT ME.

  11. No Mr Right we just need to hire more teachers and administrators. Does that put your simple mind at ease ?

  12. Yep, all the public sector union piggies jumping on this bandwagon as an excuse to create more union jobs… more teachers, more utility workers, more police, more fire! The lie is on them as Valley leaving will substantially reduce the need for public safety… they are pigs ?

  13. Why does the current Council continue to defend high density housing development when they’ve had multiple opportunities to stop it?

    1. like when???????????????????????????? inform us

  14. who was on the planning board back then and who was the engineer? They are really to blame, they could have voted NO. any idea?

  15. NEXT STEPS:
    .
    1) Proclaim Ridgewood a sanctuary city
    .
    2) House illegals (for free) in new low income housing.
    .
    3) Optionally call the housing “concentration camps”
    .
    4) Pat yourself on back and celebrate diversity
    .
    5) Send your own children to those evil Catholic Private Schools.
    .

  16. Fact: Valley is going no where, They will be providing services from the Ridgewood Campus for a very long time into the future.

Fact: More housing means more residents. More Residents means more services. More services means more employees. That is irrefutable.

Fact: The only pig in town is Boss Hogg ?who is a landlord who wants to save a few dimes on his property taxes so he can make more money on his rental property.

  17. In the long run, board of Ed’s three amigo’s are going to be more damaging for this town compared to three amigo’s of the council who destroyed the village and converted it into a town.

  18. OK you’re not worried about the services you don’t wanna hire people to control these locations. No problem, all the new locations have them take care of themselves how’s that. Sounds real good right now. Not going to happen because these locations are paying big taxes. So guess what the village of Ridgewood will be responsible For police fire EMTs water storage sanitation recycling and I’m sure forgetting something.

  19. Ridge School has at least one grade with a waiting list for the 2019-20 school year. Full schools are already here.

  20. Didn’t Sheila Brogan testify at the PB meeting that there would be NO increase in school children…
YES, and we were incredulous. Of course there would be an increase. why isn’t she saying something now?

  21. So we hear the village is going to build a bathroom somewhere in the CBD. We think a good location may be at the basement portion at the train station the old taxi stand on Broad Street. Anyone have any other thoughts on a location in the CBD. Maybe a brand new bus station/bathrooms.

  22. Can you imagine if dominoes was still my chest not Street down the block. OK food back so convenient for them.

  23. When we were debating housing density numbers to be increased from 12 units per acre to 35, the Village Engineer Chris Rutishauser was on the record saying that he had concerns about our aging infrastructure especially our ability to safely conduct sludge which would increase with all the new development. Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld was noticeably disturbed and angry that he had mentioned this. At the time there had been a cracked sludge pipe on the Midland Park border that released sludge into the streets and in Kings Pond. As far as I know nothing has been done to insure that this situation has been remedied. Now that bothers me,

  24. Don’t forget Rurik, Jim and company who got up night after night and assured us all that we were wrong – – we were volantis – – we were naysayers – – and that he and his wife and other seniors like him would move into these slums and life would be beautiful for us all.

And don’t forget the developers in town who are building these monstrosities and laughing all the way to bank over the ineptitude of the Village.

And don’t forget, while the betrayal started with Arohnson and the Puke, the betrayal continued with the current council when it sold out the Villagers who had used their own resoucres to file a lawsuit and stop these monstrosities, after having run on a platform of saying they would contain these slums from being built.

  25. Hi James

The village has a NEW “THREE AMIGOS PROBLEM”, Brogan, Wilson, and Morgan.

It appears that the village has a NEW “THREE AMIGOS PROBLEM”, Brogan, Wilson, and Morgan.
I think, Sheila Brogan, James Morgan and Jennie Smith Wilson are on a path to put us under 110M+ ADDITIONAL DEBT. They seem to be working behind the scenes to benefit some bond financing companies and some architect firms by issuing this large bond referendum.
They are also protecting each other from ethics violations and protecting borderline unethical practices of the superintendent.
If the village residents don’t wake up soon, they are going to cause a bigger problem compared to the three amigo’s of old council.
