Ridgewood NJ, the attached printed agenda for the Ridgewood Village Council’s March 22nd Public Workshop included this action item on Page 2: “Award Contract – Historic Preservation Consulting.” Several copies of the agenda were found stacked on the rear table in the Village Hall Courtroom about 30 minutes prior to the meeting’s 7:30 PM start. Despite the noted agenda item’s existence, Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd said this during the meeting itself:
“The full Council has not met with the consultant [Peter Primavera]. So, I’m not entirely sure how that all got out there. I don’t know if that’s the way people read a notice. We have not had a closed session and the full Council has not met with the consultant. That being said, if we were to meet with the consultant, and we were to make a decision, we would do it in front.”
What say you Councilwoman Winograd? If indeed the full Council had not met to approve the hiring of Peter Primavera, why did a publicly available, printed agenda for the March 22nd Ridgewood Village Council Public Workshop include the action item: “Award Contract – Historic Preservation Consulting?”
We repeat, if the full Council had not met to approve hiring Mr. Primavera, why was there a plan in place to do so? A plan that was NEVER, EVER discussed in public (a.k.a. “in front”).
Taxpayers are waiting for an answer regarding the approval process to hire Mr. Primavera. Ms. Winograd; are you seeing this?
