Sedon is currently the Village of Ridgewood Council Representative to the Green Team Advisory Committee , Council Representative to the Shade Tree Commission , Council Liaison to the Ridgewood Community Center Advisory Board and Council Liaison to the Ridgewood Arts Council .

Sedon’s distinguished political career has been marked by two  notable events ; The first was the anonymous email attack alleged to be by then Mayor Paul Aronsohn and or his associates to get Sedon fired from his reporter job  and second was his run it with animal activists over some off hand comments he made about bear hunting.

Sedon joins the long list of Ridgewood residents who have run for state office in the 40th district which include Paul Vagianos, Matt Rogers, Mark Bombace and Frank Delvecchio.  I am sure we may have missed a few.

Ridgewood resident David Russo held an assembly seat in the 40th from 1990-2017 .

  2. To set the record straight, it was alleged that Paul Aronsohn telephoned Mr. Sedon’s former employer, the Staten Island Advance.

  11. I am a big fan of Mike Sedon. When he was a reporter for the Ridgewood News, he was the first person to uncover what turned out to be “ Coin Gate.” The figures didn’t add up and he alerted the town. They took their time until there was no way to hide it anymore. I wish him the best of luck in this next chapter of his life!

  12. Mike has zero accomplishments and the shade tree committee and lack of results is a nightmare
Further he voted to change the timing of the school election and then didn’t vote. This will giant him in the senate race also
If it wasn’t for the mayor baby sitting him he would be out already as council

  13. 4-5% tax increase …. great accomplishment. Not

  14. He can’t even maintain his property or that of his tenant next door. If a person doesn’t take pride in one’s own home as part of the broader community, he certainly isn’t going to put effort into the betterment of others. And, yes, it absolutely IS relevant.

  15. Mike is running on “flooding mitigation” – perhaps he should explain the $1.6m bond, the continuous flooding of village hall and the hundreds of thousands of dollars on new turf replacement fields. Yeah, that’s not a good platform to be running on. SIGH.

  16. Mike probably has been set up to run for a higher political position.and I mean “set up”as it sounds. They want him in a higher political position and Paul has the identical plans after he is convinced–by his buddies–that he will win easily. He has been told he will be an immediate win if his only competition is Melanie but he’s enough aware that she could beat him that his “pals” got her fired due to their political persuasion. Let’s hope she wins by a landslide.
