RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Local drivers and residents should prepare for upcoming detours as the highly anticipated resurfacing of Maple Avenue officially gets underway.

Managed by Bergen County’s retained paving contractor, Tilcon, the major infrastructure project will refresh Maple Avenue all the way from the Ho-Ho-Kus border to the Glen Rock border.

Staging for construction equipment will begin in the Graydon South Parking Lot. The entire project is expected to take approximately three weeks, weather permitting. Because work will progress from north to south, residents and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead for periodic traffic delays.

Here is the breakdown of the official roadwork schedule, parking rules, and traffic impacts you need to know.

  • Overnight & Day Parking Options: Residents who live directly inside the active work zones are permitted to park their vehicles on adjacent, non-impacted side streets during the day and overnight.

  • Follow On-Site Traffic Control: Local police officers and construction personnel will be stationed throughout the area to manage traffic control, guide pedestrians, and help maintain safety. Please stay alert and follow all posted detours.

The County of Bergen and local officials appreciate your patience, cooperation, and extra care on the road as these crucial roadway improvements are completed.
