PARAMUS, NJ — Just two years after its milestone relocation to Paramus, The Valley Hospital is already planning for a massive footprint expansion.
Following a record-shattering year of patient volume, executive leaders from Valley Health System officially presented conceptual expansion plans to the Paramus Planning Board. The proposed project aims to meet a skyrocketing demand for healthcare in Northern New Jersey and Southern New York.
Shifting Demographics Drive Record-Breaking Patient Volumes
Since moving its main facility to Paramus, Valley Health System has experienced unprecedented growth. Local healthcare demand continues to surge due to an aging population, an increase in chronic conditions, and medical advancements allowing for earlier diagnoses.
The hospital’s recently released data highlights massive year-over-year growth, making 2025 one of the highest-volume periods in the hospital’s 75-year history:

4,459 New Babies Born: A monumental milestone representing a 14.2% increase from the previous year.

31,991 Inpatient Admissions: A 6.1% spike in hospitalizations.

81,664 Emergency Department Visits: A 4.3% jump in urgent care needs.

Inside the Plan: 100 New Beds and Advanced Specialty Care
To stay ahead of the demographic shift, Valley Health System’s conceptual plan introduces two major additions to the Paramus campus:

A New Patient Care Wing: This dedicated specialty inpatient pavilion will add approximately 100 licensed beds, specifically designed to support high-demand clinical specialties.

A New Parking Structure: A multi-level parking expansion built to support the influx of future patients, visitors, and medical staff.
The architectural layout prioritizes patient experience, ensuring the new wing integrates seamlessly into the existing state-of-the-art facility without disrupting its modern design.
What’s Next for The Valley Hospital Expansion?
As an independent health system, Valley Health remains committed to serving local families. However, community members will have to wait a bit before construction begins.
The project is currently in its early planning stages and must clear detailed design work, regulatory approvals, and municipal reviews. If local officials and community stakeholders approve the proposal, construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.

I noticed the signs now say “Valley Health System”
I’m going to OPRA the legal fees we have been paying to fight the improper assessment.
The bottom line is Ridgewood screwed up big-time.
Bottom line is that this expansion would be our problem if we let them build in the first place.
Valley are tax deadbeats and public leaches. As somebody said, this is now Paramus’s problem now.
Thumbs down, oh really do you know how much money Valley Hospital has donate to the village across the board, they have donated big money for education things you have no idea, I witnessed it firsthand now that money is going towards Paramus, what do you think they don’t get perks from the county, the state, are you stupid?
How much?
It’s hard to say exactly the amount, because they have donated money, to all the sports groups, town, events, parks for signage, scoreboards in the past so many different things, not to mention different. Things were allocated from the county state for roads. They keep all the arteries open for the hospital. That was always a priority. So someone put thumbs down they’re full of shit. They actually don’t know.
I didn’t like having their name on a scoreboard at BF and who knows what else. Some of their donations were self serving.
Some of your people got your head up your ass, OK good luck getting that $7 million in taxes from Valley, it’s gonna be a cold day in hell when you receive that. They can afford to shut the whole place down, put a fence around it and just leave it and never pay tax on it. Make it a real eyesore and it’s nothing anyone can do in the village. Unless you wanna buy the place and you can’t afford it. Oh unless you float a bond with the taxpayers pay for it, right that’s something this slick bunch would do. This mayor council manager can’t stand that they can’t control Valley hospital,
Health department, and can’t control some of us that have more formation than them. This crew thinks they know a lot they know zip it’s amazing how how are few people getting into power and they think they know everything, especially when they’ve been on the job a few years. What a joke.
Sounds about right. Valley has always been petty and vindictive. Oh but but always for the greater good. Hypocrites.
