A late Friday afternoon hit-and-run incident on June 21 led to the arrest of an adult male DUI suspect by Ridgewood Police patrol officers. The suspect, driving a black Nissan sedan, allegedly struck a parked, unoccupied Hyundai SUV on East Glen Avenue before continuing westbound and mounting a curb at the corner of Northern Parkway.

Incident Details
The crash occurred around the intersection of East Glen Avenue and Northern Parkway. After the collision, the Nissan sedan came to a stop on the curb, and Ridgewood Police officers arrived on the scene to find containerized alcohol inside the vehicle. The presence of alcohol contributed to the suspicion of DUI.
Arrest and Response
The suspect was promptly taken into custody and transported to Ridgewood Police headquarters for processing. Ridgewood Fire Department/EMS and Ridgewood Emergency Services also responded to the incident to provide support.
Animal Welfare
During the arrest, officers discovered a dog inside the Nissan. Tyco Animal Control was called to take custody of the dog, ensuring its safety and care.
Vehicle Impoundment
A tow truck removed the damaged Nissan to a nearby impound yard. Despite the collision, the Hyundai SUV appeared to remain operable.
