Ridgewood NJ, Major League Pickleball (MLP) is on track for profitability and gearing up for new franchise expansion, offering investors a rare opportunity to get involved in America’s fastest-growing sport.

MLP Targets Profitability in 2024

Founded in 2021, MLP expects to reach league-wide profitability by Q4 of this year, according to a league source. While only two of its 22 current teams are profitable and one has reached the breakeven point, the goal is for all teams to achieve profitability by 2027.

Expansion Opportunities Now Available

For the first time in two years, MLP is allowing investors to purchase up to two expansion teams, marking a significant milestone in the league’s growth. According to a source, new franchise prices are expected to be around $15 million, while recent team transactions suggest strong valuations—Arizona Drive recently sold a controlling stake in a deal valued at over $10 million.

Interest in owning an MLP team is surging, with nearly two dozen potential buyers inquiring about expansion teams in just the past two weeks. New franchise owners will receive:
✔ 100% equity in the team
✔ Equity in the United Pickleball Association (MLP’s parent company)
✔ Equity in DUPR (pickleball’s official rating system)

The expansion would increase the league from 22 to 24 teams, with plans to have the new teams competing by the 2026 season.

In an investor presentation, MLP highlighted the double-digit annual growth of pickleball, along with revenue potential through sponsorships, event hosting, and local activations.
