Ridgewood NJ, the no2BCIA petition was certified by the village clerk at the village council open public meeting tonight. (certified means she confirmed that we needed 814 signatures and we had at least 814 valid signatures).
The petition provided two options -the council could either withdraw the ordinance 3519 (bond for garage through BCIA), or put that as a referendum question to the voters of Ridgewood.
The mayor tonight at the council meeting, promised that he will be introducing an ordinance to repeal ordinance 3519 (BCIA funding) at the next meeting, and he decided not to proceed with the referendum question on the May ballot.
According to the petitioners , based on understanding of the law, the BCIA option for garage funding, as it was passed in ordinance 3519 appears to be dead for now.
Ridgewood will get a garage that’s funded by a local bond where Ridgewood will be in complete control. (The size of the garage is still an open question, and if you would like to be a part of petition, which will request the council to consider a smaller sized garage that’s right for that specific lot, please reach out to us at its2big.com
Garage on that small village block looks like the NY CITY Tombs prison or the women’s house of detention in some low class Bollywood film.A complete insult to that small Cafe neighborhood..People live there..like putting a Carbon monoxide pipe into their homes.Traffic,Noise Soot and health impacts will make that neighborhood a slum,Good demo work VOR..for what …the restaurants expanded business plan..will cost more that 16 Mil when the change orders are talleyed up..You thing visitors will pay 75 cents a hour to shot at rite aid or pick up a greeting card..not likely..we have competition who are waiting to take our retail business,.
No way anyone is going to pay 75 cents an hour nor will they utilize the garage to shop that far away!
It may take years but we will eventually find out that palms were greased here…there’s no other explanation.
We should watch for any surprise moves by this crew as they head to the exit rows with little to loose and so many promises to keep..Village be dammed…what a disaster as a legacy
It does look like a prison.
By design..imprisons the VOR
GUNNY TOWERS AND ALL…
It’s a parody…time to wake up from your nightmare VOR..PICTURE HEAVEN AND HELL Across a ribbon shrunken asphalt..hudson street this is soon to be your Epic Fail..will cost 20 m to deconstruct in VOR URBAN RENEWAL 2030.an unsafe and unprotected concrete crime scene..
It’s a billboard of our disfunction..at least Rutherford tried to hide their garages with low profile setbacks blending into their newer developments..
This crime is being built on the second highest plot on the commercial side
where both visitors and commuters will see that dark star sucking the life out of that (our) community.for what.. the restaurants 7 hours of power each day..and some new apartments…gauling….
We needed a few second level low profile decks and got this nightmare..
Future home of budget rent a car and a medley of food trucks once the restaurants fold up due unmanageable traffic.Secret sauce is some deal with the County and NJT FOR A COMMUTER parking Monstrosity like Iselin or Route 17 boondoggle.
