Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood PD Patrol Officer Anthony Mormino and members of the Village of Ridgewood Department of Public Works Streets Division assist an individual whose smart phone fell into a dry storm basin at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Cottage Place on Friday afternoon, 08/05. 1. I was hoping for ducklings.

  2. Great Job…I am sure there are some other bad deals buried down there..
Anyway that’s a job well done by our police partners and a pair of shoes that need a clean and shine.

  3. Pokemon verification…

  4. Kudos to public health gents

  5. Don’t forget a great job to the streets division

  6. I sincerely hope that someone tested that atmosphere with the correct device before allowing a police officer to enter the structure. Otherwise, he may have violated OSHA regulations and put his own life at risk…for a phone.

  7. Hey Chris get a life

  8. Are you serious, Chris? He must have been a few seconds at most reaching down to fish out the phone. What are you getting at, really?

  9. Chris seems to be engaging in some grade A “snark”.

  10. No good signed comment goes unpunished… Its ridgewood sfter all

  11. Lighten up, Francis. We were just wondering if, having thrown a wet blanket on a feel-good story, you had a compelling reason to do so. Hey listen, even if you had no good reason, like maybe you were just bored?, that’s no sweat as long as you cop to it! It’s still a free country (just barely).

  12. This is Chris. I am not delusional on this issue. There was an instance almost 20 years ago in Suffolk County where a father jumped into a hole that he dug on his front lawn so that he could work on his septic tank. The moment that he landed in the hole, he collapsed. One of his sons followed who also collapsed, then another one. Luckily the third son was smart enough to call for help. All three men died. Obviously none of my critics have any idea what atmospheric testing is and the “few seconds” that you mention is enough to down a person. And again, it would be for the sake of someone’s phone. My compelling reason to throw the wet blanket on this story is so that a cop can do his job and risk it for real issues; not for some careless person’s social media appendage. Chris does has a life. He doesn’t want to see a cop lose his. I am starting to doubt the training that our Department of Public Works employees have seeing that they don’t have an atmospheric tester nearby. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. A Tarrytown volunteer fire fighter lost his life a few years ago for the same issue because he entered an underground structure before testing it. Yeah, you’re right, it’s a free country and I don’t have the same rights as you to post about an officer’s safety. Murica.

  13. And I was kind enough to use my name. I like all the anons out there.
