Ridgewood Police Department investigation revealed theft of money from the Village of Ridgewood meter collection room

Ridgewood NJ , On January 8, 2012 the Ridgewood Police Department, with the assistance of the Bergen County Prosecutors Office, conducted an investigation into theft of money from the Village of Ridgewood meter collection room. An employee noticed that coins appeared to be missing from the room.
The investigation revealed that the room had been entered numerous times by an employee that was not authorized to be in the room. The accused, Thomas L Rica, 42 of Hawthorne, who was employed by the Village as a Public Works Inspector, was arrested and charged with Theft in excess of $500.00 and Hindering Apprehension. The accused was released pending an appearance in Ridgewood Municipal Court. The investigation is ongoing.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
if this is true , o m g. he will go to jail.
He should be required to pay back the stolen money, with interest, and forfeit any pension or benefits.
What does the “Public Works Inspector” do? What are the qualifications? Engineering degree? I have one. Finance degree? I have that too. Where can I send my resume?
Or is this one of those made up jobs for friends and family? I ask because I have no family in Village Hall and I have no friends.
Well what do you know; someone at village hall is getting arrested and it’s not one of the cop’s.

what, none of us better see him back in the village. he must be fired. you may see him in jail. he is not wanted or need’ed any more in town. we have others to do the work he did. his pay will be a nice saving’s to the town. the manager would like to save money , well not you got it.

love living in a town that defends thieves , I am surprised it took so long , you defended a cop have sex with an under aged girl , you defended child molesters renting apartments in town , you defend the little league stiffing the teenage umps , you defend teens buying drugs from gun toting thugs … I guess its not that low to defend some town flunky stealing after all he deserved it right ?
