Ridgewood Police Officer Aids Glen Rock Police in the Apprehension of a Door Dash Porch Pirate

Glen Rock NJ, on January 2nd at 4:43 PMGlen Rock D/Sgt. James Calaski and P.O. Sarah Orsita investigated a Door Dash delivery driver who was involved in package thefts from the front steps of residences on Warren Place and Ashton Place on December 31, 2023. P.O. James Mc Gill, who took the initial report, was able to obtain a clear video image of the actor as well as the license plate number from his vehicle.

However, the actor had provided a false address when they applied for their driver’s license. Through investigation it was discovered that the actor was a 20-year-old Clifton man who had stolen the packages while making deliveries in Glen Rock.

Once the officers were able to contact the actor through acquaintances identified during the investigation, he surrendered himself at Glen Rock Police HQ where he was arrested on two counts of package theft, a crime in the third degree.

He was processed and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for falsification of his application for his driver’s license. P.O. Miguel Torres of the Ridgewood Police Department aided with this investigation as well.
