The streets of Ridgewood, New Jersey, were filled with energy, unity, and a shared mission as members of the Ridgewood PBA Local 20 proudly took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.
This inspiring event is more than just a run; it is a powerful movement dedicated to raising vital awareness and funds for the incredible athletes of the Special Olympics New Jersey. Every year, local law enforcement officers carry the “Flame of Hope” to champion inclusion, sportsmanship, and the determination of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Special Olympics is New Jersey’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities.
A Community Effort: Shoutout to GW Middle School & Parkwood Deli
Success like this doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The Ridgewood PBA extended its heartfelt gratitude to the local community champions who helped make the route unforgettable:
-
GW Middle School: A massive thank you goes out to the students and staff for providing loud, enthusiastic encouragement that kept the runners moving forward.
-
Parkwood Deli: Known for its local roots, the deli stepped up once again, providing incredible generosity and warm hospitality to the participants along the route.
“We are proud to support such an incredible cause and the inspiring athletes we run for every year.” — Ridgewood PBA Local 20
