RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Following official certification of the Bergen County tax rate, Ridgewood Village Manager Keith Kazmark announced during Wednesday’s Village Council meeting that 2026 property tax bills are now available for payment online.

For residents awaiting hard copies, paper property tax bills will be mailed out on or before August 24, 2026.

Extended Grace Period for Third-Quarter Tax Payments

While the official statutory third-quarter due date remains unchanged under New Jersey state law, officials have approved a penalty-free extension to account for delayed billing schedules:

📌 Extended Grace Period: Residents have until September 18, 2026, to make their third-quarter tax payments without incurring interest charges.

Key Rate Takeaways: How Much Are Taxes Increasing?

The updated tax calculations reflect certified figures spanning Ridgewood Public Schools, Bergen County, the Village government, the Ridgewood Public Library, and both municipal and county open space funds.

  • Village Portion Increase: Up 3.92% from 2025.

  • Total Combined Property Tax Bill Increase: Up 4.78% overall for 2025–2026.
