Ridgewood NJ , as previously reported on the Ridgewood blog on May 18, retired Fairview Police Chief and Run for Hope Foundation Founder Frank DelVecchio will embark on a 200-mile solo run across the State of New Jersey to fight hunger and food insecurity. DelVecchio will begin this multi-day venture at High Point State Park in Sussex County and make his way to New Jersey’s southernmost tip in Cape May.
Frank DelVecchio completed his 200-mile , 85 hour , solo run across New Jersey on Sunday, May 21, reaching Cape May Point at approximately 7:30 p.m.
DelVecchio said on Facebook , “Thank you to my nephew, Joe DelVecchio, Mike Sedon and to my awesome wife, Denise and our kids, Christopher, Aaron and Kaylee! If it wasn’t for them I don’t know if I could have ever completed this. Thanks to Matt Friscia who has been handling social media postings and to Derek Sands for all of his efforts in getting the run, and the cause, covered by the media. Thank you to all of you that donated to the cause, whether food/supplies to the YMCA or local food pantries or by donating directly to the Run for Hope Foundation. I thank God for all His blessings, especially for the weather! Couldn’t have asked for better weather. Even running through the driving rain helped. And thank you to all of you, my friends, for following me and supporting the effort. So many people go without, we need to all work to make a difference. God bless all of you.”

How much was raised?
How much is actually going for food to feed the hungry?
How much was spent on his venture that could have gone directly to “fight hunger”?
