Ridgewood NJ, the village of Ridgewood roads are all in terrible shape despite the mild winter. In fact they have been in terrible shape for most of the last decade .It seems bad roads are the norm and becoming like Ridgewood Water restrictions , something that never goes away while water bills and property taxes keep going up .

On election years usually the state and the county try to pave a few roads here and there mostly near connected friends homes and businesses . But this year the focus appears to more on building high density housing on every square in of land in Bergen County and cutting down every tree so the state can once again raise taxes to save the environment and raise taxes to improve the infrastructure .
Have the builders in town been repairing the roads damaged by their trucks and other heavy equipment?
How dare you attempt to interfere with tradition?
A road cannot be repaired and restored to a smooth surface until the town has received word from a builder/utility that it plans to tear up a section of road for “necessary work.”
Upon receiving that word, the town rushes to complete the restoration so that the taxpayers get to enjoy the smooth road for the least possible time.
At that point the “necessary work” can be accomplished and a low quality rough patch can be applied.
Oh, and if a narrow patch is applied along the road surface (not at a 90 degree angle) for some distance, it must be placed such that a vehicle cannot have the patch under the vehicle with the wheels rolling on a smooth surface.
Are they sweeping the roads in the CBD anymore. Right in front of our store on Godwin Avenue is filthy.
Ridiculous
Glen Ave near Paramus Road is abysmal.
South Pleasant after crossing Grove St and heading towards Hawes is an embarrassment.
Why ,why are most of the main roads in Ridgewood are in terrible shape. What is going on.
If there were no signs, how else would you know that you have biked/driven into Richwood?
The roads in Ridgewood are awful BUT the roads in almost every Bergen County town that I’ve been driving thru everyday are horrific also. Constant road detours doing god knows what and then they just crappily patch them up and go rip up another area. Lots of wear and tear on the cars!
And the pot hole patch work looks as if it was completed by a kindergarten class ..
Can someone fill the bottles on Oak Street in the CBD that road is terrible shape.
Lakeview Drive has been a mess with horrible patch ups, potholes, puddles, etc. since we moved here almost 10 years ago..
They should bring in pot hole crews on a Saturday.
Chain Gang slap and dash process
Taxes here are insane for crap roads county or local
Winter was light so no blame there
You are all correct about the Ridgewood roads being horrific. We should add a 2% tax on all restaurants bills in town to be used to make road repairs. That is how Wildwood NJ built a convention center years ago.
sorry Trenton would just steal it all like the Transportation Slush Fund
We should force the owners of all the new apartment buildings pay for all the damage to the main roads downtown that occurred during the construction that they are now reaping benefits from.
