Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Maroons led of their season with a fumble on their first offensive play of the season .The Maroons quickly recovered scoring on their next five first half possessions. The first was an 85-yard touchdown catch-and-run by Red Kossick, who took a pass from Jack Foerch around the Maroon 30 and sped past the rest of the Comet defense.
Bobby Kuenzler had an 8-yard running touchdown to make it 14-0 after one quarter and Kossick put up two more long scoring plays, a 39-yard catch from Foerch and a 48-yard touchdown run on a counter play. Tahir Kenyatta had a 5-yard touchdown run to make it 35-0 at halftime and he scored again on a 27-yard run on the opening possession of the third quarter, sending the Ridgewood starters to the bench.
Ridgewood beat Hackensack, 42-0, marking the first win for interim head coach Torre Watson, who took over for Chuck Johnson when the longtime coach stepped aside due to a medical issue this week.
