Can we not find anybody who is not overweight?
The are volunteers who show up to serve the community and maybe even save your life. I am grateful for each and everyone of these incredible people.
STFU.
That is so rude!!😡😡
He was my neighbor for 30 years. A nice kid from a nice family.
I agrès. What the heck with the body shaming?
its unhealthy and dangerous, particularly for first responders
It is healthy and unfit, particularly for anyone attended to by these first responders.
There are Cretans among us.
Commenters #1 & #5 you should both be ashamed of yourselves.
It’s not Body Shaming… its public safety… and quite possibly YOUR Life.
Just pray these people are fit enough to quickly lift you and transport you to the ambulance so you can get to the hospital and get the lifesaving medical care you need when you have a heart attack, stroke, sever automobile accident or other medical crisis.
SECONDS MATTER in those situations.
I want the most fit, most knowledgeable, most experienced people working on me when I am having a medical crisis.
Mister CAPS is back.
Miss CAPS is back.
(and doesn’t understand irony)
Are you forgetting they are volunteers? What you want and what you get in this situation are separate things.
And I think it is a mistake to underestimate their physical ability based on size. Yes, some of them could shed a few pound but so could I and I can sprint, jog and lift far beyond what you could think I could. I actually always surprise myself with my physical abilities despite my age and weight.
Here’s hoping you don’t have a life or death medical crisis and need to rely on someone who is physically unfit.
Thank you for your service.
