Ridgewood NJ, at the June 26 Village Council meeting, Councilwoman Winograd was PUSHING to have the first public comments session permanently moved way down the agenda, Councilwoman Perron was not in attendance, but Mayor Vagianos and Councilman Weitz agreed with Winograd. Councilwoman Lorraine Reynolds was completely opposed and clearly stated that public comments should be at the beginning and at the end, not at the middle and the end, of each meeting. Ms. Winograd got it moved forward to be on the agenda for a vote at the July 17 Village Council Public Meeting.
On July 17, mysteriously, it was nowhere on the agenda. After the matter was brought up by some members of the public, here is what we learned:
1. Councilwoman Winograd admitted that she quietly pulled it from the agenda following a side-bar conversation with Councilwoman Reynolds. (THANK YOU LORRAINE REYNOLDS)
2. Councilwoman Winograd was not going to say a word about her big idea. Why? Because she read all the posts on The Blog about what a horrible idea it was, so unfriendly to the citizens who want their voices to be heard. Sorry, Siobhan, you cannot sweep your ridiculous suggestion under the carpet without us knowing. The citizens are watching you.
3. Councilman Weitz insisted on July 17 that he was fully in support of keeping the public comments at the beginning of meetings with rare exception – when in fact on June 26 he was in total agreement with Winograd’s plan. Sorry, Evan, the citizens are watching (and listening to) you.
So public comments will remain at the beginning of the meetings, thanks to the loud and emphatic voices of the public on THE BLOG and other social media sites.

Weitz had a momentary memory lapse and denied saying something that he actually did say during a televised and recorded meeting.
Leave Evan alone. He’s sleepy and can’t be expected to remember every little detail.

This just proves the fact that they’ve lied. We can go back and watch the meetings because they are recorded. What they say and then try to backtrack on is hilarious. She wanted to expressly squench the ability to speak in public, when she herself used to get up at meetings and speak. The hypocrisy is astounding. She is not a good role model for all of those young people she is trying to mentor because lying is really a bad thing to teach a young mind. Go figure.

Vagianos donated to both Winograd and Weitz’s campaign and was involved in getting them to run so that they could put the giant field over on the Schedler property. Don’t kid yourself for a minute that these bad actors didn’t have this all planned out in advance.
And here we are two years later:
-The attempted destruction of Schedler has massively failed
-A major taxpayer funded remediation is coming for what will ultimately be a return to the 2018 plan
-Massive class action suits are percolating even as we speak…both Schedler + Habernickel
What an embarrassment.
And Habernickle is still a mess and over run with clients of a business. Not tax payers children having fun. Very unwelcome with tents and tables by the park entrance

Here’s the issue, and it’s not about when the public’s pathetic comments are heard, whether in the beginning, middle and/or end: this administration has been perfectly transparent with you, in fact, transparent in its impatience with, and disdain for, the pro forma theatrics of these meetings.
Your input is unnecessary. It has no bearing on what has already been decided. The only difference is this council isn’t concerned with play acting with you.

They would not know what transparacy is if it was emblazoned on the dais in writing. What a joke.

Why be ashamed to state that you heard the voice of the people and decided to deep six the idea? That is not a bad thing.
