Ridgewood Village Council’s Push to Curtail Public Comments Silenced

Ridgewood NJ, at the June 26 Village Council meeting, Councilwoman Winograd was PUSHING to have the first public comments session permanently moved way down the agenda, Councilwoman Perron was not in attendance, but Mayor Vagianos and Councilman Weitz agreed with Winograd.  Councilwoman Lorraine Reynolds was completely opposed and clearly stated that public comments should be at the beginning and at the end, not at the middle and the end, of each meeting.  Ms. Winograd got it moved forward to be on the agenda for a vote at the July 17 Village Council Public Meeting.

Ridgewood NJ, Does Ridgewood Deputy Mayor Pamela Perron really think that anyone who’s been paying attention to Village Council business for the past few months actually believes the planned purchase new trash cans for $60k is something other than a pet project of Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd? Ms. Perron may hope the majority of Ridgewood’s taxpayers haven’t been paying attention, but The Ridgewood Blog’s staff certainly has been awake, especially with regard to the recent shenanigans of the Deputy Mayor and her three cohorts on the Council.

Witch hunt in progress – Who asked the State of NJ to designate Schedler property in Ridgewood as “historic?”

Ridgewood NJ, Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd seems hell bent on finding out the name of the Village employee/official who allegedly “requested” that the State of NJ’s Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) designate the entire Schedler property as “historic.” The “historic” designation status requires SHPO’s approval of any plans the Village may have to develop/improve the property.
