Ridgewood NJ, On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, the Village of Ridgewood officially launched Our Village, Our Future, a Village-wide visioning process that will inform the creation of its next Master Plan. The website www.visionridgewood.org will serve as the main online portal for Our Village, Our Future.
The primary goal of Our Village, Our Future is to implement a community visioning process that reaches out to a broad range of Ridgewood residents and other stakeholders (e.g., businesses, institutions, etc.) and encourages them to think about and discuss the values, principles, goals, and priorities that should shape the future of Ridgewood. This community visioning process represents one of the first steps toward creating a new Master Plan for the Village.
The final outcome/product of this visioning process will be a Vision Plan. This document will summarize the community engagement process and synthesize the results of this process in terms of identifying and explaining the values, principles, goals, and priorities that should shape the Village’s next Master Plan.
It is anticipated that the visioning process will take approximately 6 to 7 months to complete. The process of creating the next Master Plan will start after the visioning process is complete.
Isn’t Schedler the only thing that matters? Apart from freeing up space for the RPD in Village Hall by moving Ridgewood Water to the old Elks HQ? Even though we only need 30-35 officers after Valley Hospital leaves, not 45? Or two garagezillas on Hudson and where the old Town Garage is next to Ben & Jerry’s? Despite that fact that interest expenses on Village debt are rapidly rising and taking more and more of our Village budget and crowding out municipal spending on other things to improve the quality of life for all residents?
The traffic rerouting on Franklin Ave right in front of new apt. construction with police directing traffic. Is that because of the apt. construction going on? That is the future of Ridgewood. Congested real badly. A town people will want to avoid. Not hard to vision. And the council knows it.
I don’t get it. What is there to vision, to vote on?
Oh the Master Plan goody bag…I give up.
Who is paying the Police to direct traffic? Ridgewood (gasp!!) or the developer? And why didn’t our town lawyer at least put up a token protest when it counted? He appears to be a smiling Buddha and instead of making and challenging actions that are clearly not beneficial to Ridgewood, he just sits there. There were tons of illegal maneuvers before Stacy got so comfortably embedded with Ridgewood authorities that could have been challenged. Why don’t the Ridgewood realtors give us an accurate account of people already fleeing Ridgewood? The taxes in the next few years will become incredible and continue going higher as maintenance of the Garage, expanded library, and the new water headquarters all sort to hit, not counting the taxes that will be increased drastically for next year for purchase and renovation costs. Then comes the school construction as the number of new children was drastically, and deliberately understated. Does Ridgewood have a chance of survival?
Not long before Ridgewood democrats start wearing white sheets over their heads
FACE THEY DID NOT LISTEN THEY DONT CARE
We the property owners and taxpapers got screwed by the club of thieves running this casino
The Village lawyer doesn’t represent Villager taxpayers. He represents the Council.
What will happen with the Valley Hospital system properties when they leave for Hackensack? What’s the redevelopment plan? How many police officers and full-time firefighters does Ridgewood need when we no longer have to answer fire alarms and violence outbreaks in the hospital? I’m guessing around 50% of current levels.
They are moving to Paramus , some facilities will remain in Ridgewood , its a sanctuary state we are going to need more police not less
You still haven’t even asked the question “what happens when Valley leaves?” Why would we need more police & fire after they leave? Apparently they’re called to Valley constantly. Are you a police union lackey ?
The “we need more cops because NJ is a sanctuary state” is the same “police stare” argument that the PBA police union is making. It’s directly from their racist, anti-immigration playbook. The same I’ve that is trying to hire more full time cops as duty officers at schools, and buy MRAPs and drones from the DOE. Maybe we can build a wall between us and Paterson as well, would that help your police buddies pulling “extra duty” work protecting the construction crews from “bad hombres”? You’re sick. ??
you voted for Murphy you get the consequences
What “consequences”? That’s a “dog call” to anti-immigrants and racists. You must be police union. Always warning of bogeymen coming to get us. The “we need more cops because NJ is a sanctuary state” line is the same “police state” argument that the PBA police union is making. It’s directly from their racist, anti-immigration playbook. The same union that is trying to hire more full-time cops as duty officers at schools, won’t allow auxiliary officers to do “extra duty” work, and who recommend that we buy MRAPs and drones from the DOE. Maybe we can build a wall between us and Paterson as well, would that help your police buddies pulling “extra duty” work protecting the construction crews from “bad hombres” and your dog call about “consequences”? You’re sick. ??
you want a sanctuary state you are getting a sanctuary state
You voted for Murphy and you got Aronsohn on his staff.
The NJEA and PFRS voted for Murphy, not me.
The NJEA and PFRS voted for Murphy, not me. Who is Ahronson?
The last commenter is obviously new to Ridgewood. Aronsen is known as the Ogre of Ridgewood. He was on an earlier Council and he and his buddies are basically responsible for the garage and all the new home construction in Ridgewood. I still can’t understand why our lawyer did not step in at one point unless he is totally in agreement with Paul’s destructive actions.
Let me get this straight you are so stupid you dont know a sanctuary state attracts people who need sanctuary ?
Are you so stupid you just repeat the police union “dog whistle” about immigrants and minorities? Ridgewood doesn’t need so many cops now that Valley is leaving. We should be hiring auxiliary officers (“specials”) for the “extra duty” work for utilities which is sure to reduce the overtime shenanigans by the RPD (any wonder why the police lackeys oppose this?). All new hires should be moved to bronze level healthcare plans (equivalent to what most private sector employers offer, with much higher contribution amounts), and 401(k)-style defined contribution pension schemes. Accumulated leave payouts at retirement should be paid at the wage rate when the leave was actually awarded, not at the highest final comp rate. Too bad this Council is so conflicted in handling the current ongoing PBA negotiations. Major conflicts of interest that Boyd and James just keep ignoring. Taxpayers are being screwed.
