Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood zoning board faces another significant decision at its upcoming Aug. 27 meeting, with an ongoing application from Les Dann, LLC seeking approval to expand a body shop at 246-264 S. Broad St. This application, which was initially presented at the March 26 meeting, proposes to demolish the current shop and replace it with a larger, two-story facility.

The application has stirred debate, especially after representatives from the Religious Society of Friends and Friends Nursery School highlighted discrepancies between the submitted plans and previous testimonies from the shop’s owner during a January meeting. These inconsistencies have raised concerns within the community, making this case one to watch.

In a recent display of community influence, the board voted against a digital billboard application in July, a contentious issue that took two years to reach a final decision. With the billboard debate now settled, attention shifts to the body shop expansion, which seems poised for a conclusion in the coming weeks.

    1. Precisely the kind of anti-small business drivel (along with ridiculous taxes and CODB) that has resulted in Ridgewood’s downtown looking like the bust that it presently is.

      1. The good news is that the village will soon be opening a Division of Tumbleweeds, which will create two new full-time positions at $350,000 a year.

        1. Tumbleweeds indeed.

By the way- how’s the new Performing Arts Center in the abandoned Movie Theater coming along?

PFAS Paulie and his 3 dingbats getting ready to cut the ribbon soon?

    2. It’s been there for decades you idiot

      1. Says someone named anonymous

  2. The billboard issue is long from settled.

    1. you can thank Gail Price for that.

  3. You’re right about that !!

  4. “In a recent display of community influence, the board voted against a digital billboard application in July. . ”

this is false. no one was influenced. the applicant failed to meet the burden of proof for variance relief.

  5. This is a terrible idea. Just no.

    1. 100%

Instead of broad street lets expand/build it on mountain ave, heights road or south murray and see who supports it.

      1. Yep it’s ok to build/expand a ridiculous oversized body shop in the most diverse neighborhood in Ridgewood as long as its not in the high rent section(s).

        1. read the zoning laws before you buy a cheap home next to an existing commercial enterprise

        2. The same sections that have signs on their lawns that say Hate has No Home Here, No Person is Illegal, and Love is Love.

  6. Another ridiculous comment from a rabid liberal. Most diverse neighborhood in Ridgewood ? Could you be anymore racist? Check you white privilege boomer it’s showing.
