Allendale NJ, It was an evening for the history books in the Borough of Allendale. At the most recent Mayor & Council meeting, our community received a distinction that confirms what we’ve always known: there is no better place to call home.
Allendale has been officially recognized with a Joint Legislative Resolution from the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly as one of the Top 10 Safest Cities in America.
A State-Level Honor for a Local Achievement
We were honored to welcome Assemblyman Robert Auth, who presented the resolution on behalf of himself, Senator Holly Schepisi, and Assemblyman John Azzariti Jr. This prestigious state-level recognition celebrates Allendale’s commitment to public safety and community excellence.
To mark the gravity of the moment, Mayor Amy Wilczynski and the Borough Council issued a local proclamation, cementing this achievement in Allendale’s storied history.
The “Allendale Difference”: How We Did It
This ranking isn’t just a statistic—it’s the result of a dedicated, multi-layered approach to community well-being:
-
Elite Law Enforcement: Under the proactive leadership of Chief Mike Dillon, the Allendale Police Department continues to set the standard for professionalism and service.
-
Steady Leadership: Mayor Wilczynski and the Council have prioritized safety as the foundation of our Borough’s success.
-
A Vigilant Community: The heart of our safety is our residents. Allendale is a place where neighbors truly look out for one another.
“When our mayor, our council, our officers, and our community work as one, this is what we can accomplish together.”
Fiscal Responsibility: The 2026 Budget Introduction
Safety wasn’t the only highlight of the evening. The Borough also introduced a 2026 Municipal Budget designed with the taxpayer in mind.
In an era of rising costs, Allendale’s leadership has worked tirelessly to ensure responsible stewardship. This budget protects the essential services our families rely on while maintaining the long-term financial health of the Borough.
Community Health: Colorectal Cancer Awareness
In addition to our civic celebrations, the Mayor and Council officially recognized March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage all residents to prioritize education and early detection—healthy residents are the backbone of a strong community.
Thank You, Allendale!
We extend our deepest gratitude to Assemblyman Auth for his visit, to our state representatives for their unwavering support, and to Chief Dillon and his officers. Most importantly, thank you to the residents of Allendale. You are the reason we are one of the safest cities in the nation.

“City”?…?
This cannot be allowed to stand. Allendale needs to shoulder it’s fair share of crime, high density housing, and urban decay, and after reviewing these stats, I’m sure Mikie Sherrill and the majority Democrat legislature will have something to say about this unfair lack of distribution of civic dysfunction, and figure a way to rid this community of it’s safe, clean, law abiding white privilege.
