When the Village of Ridgewood announced it would begin selling unlimited parking passes, commuters parking their vehicles in the downtown area for an extended period of time no longer had to feel weighed down – literally.
Before the Unlimited Prepaid Parking Permit (UP3) – the 2012 version took effect Dec. 15 – owners of vehicles parked in metered lots had to constantly feed the machine coins or risk getting a ticket. Now they have the hassle-free option to park in any of five designated parking lots throughout the day.
